Looking for some help?

This page will provide some links and tools to help in your journey toward Christ. Whether you’re looking for ways to get closer to God, find answers, or grow spiritually, we can help.

Need a Bible? The Bible is one of the most important tools a believer in Christ can have. Not only is it God’s word to us, but it’s a major way God speaks to his people! Did you know the Bible is available online for free? Below are some helpful Bible resources to get you started on your journey.

  • YouVersion — the “Bible App,” a free Bible you can use on any device, including your smartphone! This app has many translations and even audio versions available so you can have the Bible read to you!
  • Bible Gateway — this is a great resource for searching through the Bible and looking up specific verses in multiple translations. They also have an App to download.

Need Salvation? Being “saved” is a term that simply means that you’ve made Jesus the Lord of your life, you’ve surrendered yourself to Him and left behind the old way of living. Without Jesus, no one can enter Heaven. Without Jesus, we are all doomed to eternity in Hell. With Jesus, we can be reunited with God, and when we die we can enter eternity in Heaven.

Romans 10:9-10 says, “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.”

Salvation in Jesus is simple because it’s for everyone. To make Jesus your Lord, it’s as easy as ABC:

A: Admit you have sinned. No one is perfect, which is why Jesus, who is perfect, came and took our place on the cross making reconciliation for us with God. Because we are not perfect, we need a savior. Romans 3:23, Romans 3:10, Romans 6:23, 1 John 1:9

B: Believe in Jesus. Believe with your heart that Jesus died on the cross and God raised Him from the dead. Because the wages of sin is death, Jesus took on sin’s punishment for us by dying on the cross in our place. That death was meant for you and me. But because Jesus took our place, when we believe in what He did for us, we receive eternal life through Christ. John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8-9

C: Confess Jesus as your Lord. Once we surrender our lives to Christ, we should tell others publicly. As it says in Romans 10:9-10 above, part of our salvation is through openly declaring our faith in Christ. It doesn’t have to be anything spectacular, it’s not like you have to get on TV and say it. Just don’t keep it a secret. Tell someone you know — or even tell us — that you just got saved! The Bible says that if we deny Jesus on earth, He will deny us in Heaven (Matthew 10:33). It’s easy to tell someone you believe in Jesus, and if you have truly given your life to Him, then you won’t be ashamed of what He did for you! Don’t keep it to yourself. Romans 1:16, Matthew 10:33, Romans 19:9-10

What do I pray to be saved? It doesn’t have to be anything special. Praying is simply talking to God. You can even talk through the ABC’s above. But if you need some guidance, you can pray this simple prayer:

God, thank you for giving me the chance to turn my life around. You already know the things I’ve done. I’m sorry. Please forgive me for the wrong things I’ve done in my life. Jesus, I know you died for me. I believe you were raised from the dead. Thank you for taking my place and making a way for me to be right in God’s eyes. Jesus come into my heart. Be the Lord of my life. I surrender to you right now. In Jesus’ name, amen.

What happens next? If you prayed that prayer, congratulations! You are now saved! But salvation is just the beginning. Now that you are saved, Jesus is by your side to help you through every situation, good or bad! Life may never be perfect until we enter Heaven, but if you’re saved, you are no longer alone! God is there to help and He’s just a prayer away (remember, prayer is just talking to God!). Now that you are saved, you will want to continually grow in your understanding of who God is and what He’s done for you. You can start by reading the Bible, or finding a Bible-believing church nearby. God will never contradict Himself, so the more you know the truth in the Bible, more you will learn about who God is and His plans for your life.
